What's Our Vision?
God is our vision! We want the true and living God to fill our hearts, hopes and lives. To seek to know him, live for him and share him with the world around.
We are motivated by the love of God, shown ultimately in the death of Jesus on the cross.
Here are a couple of Bible verses that resonate with us and our understanding of our who are:
‘You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.’
(Matthew 5v14, TNIV)
As such, we want to hold out the gospel and grace of God to Hinckley and beyond.
‘I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.’
(John 15v5, TNIV)
Key to our life and mission is to be connected to Jesus. God the Father is pruning us, making us more like Jesus. So all fruitfulness flows from our connection to Him, as his Spirit works through us.
So What are Our Aims?
With this vision in mind, we have 3 aims:
Growing in Maturity - we want every one at Trinity to grow in knowing God and living for him.
Serving in Ministry - as a diverse people, we are given different gifts by God to serve one another and those around us. We want every one to be serving appropriately in God's ministry.
Being on Mission - as people forgiven by God and brought into his family, we want the world to know him too. So our aim is to share the Gospel and Grace of Jesus Christ with people in Hinckley and across the world.
What's Essential to Us?
We consider these three things to be given by God and essential:
The Bible - God's Living Word, as the basis of our faith and knowledge of God and all he calls us to be and do.
Prayer - Talking to God, to express the relationship he has brought us into, and our dependence on him for all that we are and do.
Fellowship - God calls us to be a Church, a people following Jesus together - we need each other.
So What's our Mission?
To be a church family of all ages in Hinckley, encouraging each other to grow in following Jesus. We do this on Sundays, in midweek groups and one-to-one. We want to live for God and give glory to Him in all we do - all through the week, in church, at home and at work.
To be serving one another and our community - helping each other grow and showing the love of Jesus.
To be on mission, always - ready to share the hope we have in Jesus in our day to day lives, welcoming people to our services to find out about Jesus, supporting our partners in mission around the world who share the gospel and grace of God.
Where do I fit in?
Come with your faith, your questions, your passion - and join us in following Jesus, and sharing his gospel and grace with people in Hinckley and across the world.
